WHY IS NUS “BEGGING” ALUMNUS TO DONATE WHEN LKY SAY THERE IS NO FREE LUNCH IN S’PORE?

Dear Editors,

I received a letter recently from NUS to request that I give an Annual Gift to NUS. I remember LKY saying there is no free lunch in Singapore

I remember LHL saying recently that Singaporeans must not expect the govt to do anything for them but they must be self reliant. The pap is such a heartless party who has shown no compassion for poor and sick Singaporeans.

When I was in NUS, I had to work part time to pay full tuition fees. Where was the pap when the poor needed them? Where was the pap when the sick needed help? Now the pap asks Singaporeans to donate to President Charity, NUS and other VWOs.

Why doesn’t the PAP lead singaporeans in this altruistic endeavour by showing more compassion rather than to victimise the poor and the sick? It is by their actions that we know the pap, not their words. So can the pap lead us in this area, rather than just talk and no action?
