MEASLY $6000 FINE FOR CHEATING FOREIGN WORKERS

Employment agency charged two foreign workers who were trying to find jobs in Singapore $7,519 and $7,919 as agent fees In November 2013 and October 2014. This was more than two months of their salary, the maximum amount agencies can charge.

Career Central was fined $6,000 yesterday for overcharging foreign job seekers on their agency fees.

The Ministry of Manpower said its employment agency licence is being reviewed, and is suspended in the meantime.
