A PRC family of five refused to pay for $300 meal and lodging at a 5 star hotel in Orchard. This incident started with one of the PRC tourist falling down in the hotel room. He sustained minor abrasions and hotel staff suggested to send him to the hospital but was declined as he felt it was alright. The next day, the man’s son made a huge ruckus and questioned why the hotel staff did not inform him about his father’s “injuries”. He demanded the hotel pay for medical compensation which the hotel agreed to.
He then further demanded for free lodging and other free expenses from the hotel citing his poor customer service experience. He proceeded to the restaurant and ordered $300 worth of food before walking out not paying. The police were called in and the man managed to leave scott free. In the end, the poor hotel manager had to pay for the $300 meals and sent the PRC family on their way.
