DR CHEE SOON JUAN – YOU ARE A TRUE PATRIOT

Dear Dr Chee Soon Juan,

I spent my formative years in childhood and through adolescence believing you were a maniac with an outlandish agenda, and up till recently, accepted the ‘political failure’ label that Chan Chun Sing branded on you.

I’m glad I’ve had a chance to listen to you speak finally. Your speeches were the only ones in the run-up to the elections thus far that have moved me. Thank you for giving up your youth, for the sacrifices you have made in your personal life, for enduring a prison term, bankruptcy and defamation and not upping and leaving.

You are a true patriot, and you have this Singaporean’s enduring support. “Do not go gentle into that good night… Rage, rage against the dying of the light.”
