On Tuesday (25 August 2015), Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong adviced President Tony Tan and Singapore’s 12th Parliament was dissolved. With this move, a General Election has to be held in the next 3 months and many predict it to take place in September.
President Tony Tan will issue a Writ of Election which specifies when Nomination Day is. Nomination Day has to be no earlier than 5 days or no later than 1 month after the Writ is issued.
The latest EBRC carved up Singapore into 89 seats in 29 constituencies. This is up from the 87 seats in the previous Parliament.
