COLUMBARIUM PLAGUED LAM PIN MIN TO DEFEND POSITION IN SENGKANG WEST SMC

Member of Parliament Lam Pin Min will stand as the PAP candidate in Sengkang West in the coming General Election.

In the last GE, Dr Lam won 58.11% of the vote against WP candidate Koh Choong Yong. WP has indicated its intentions to contest in SengKang West again this coming GE.

In January this year, Lam Pin Min came under fire over the building of a columbarium in his constituency. Residents were enraged at him siding with the company and for failing to defend the rights and interests of the residents especially those who bought a new BTO in the vicinity. He was also accused of chiding the residents for being unreasonable with their demands.

Dr Lam also came under intense scrutiny after he was caught deleting the comments of irate residents from his Facebook page.

It remains to be since whether Dr Lam can defend his position in SengKang West especially after the series of high profile gaffes in his constituency. Fortunately, a portion of his boundary has been carved out into Ang Mo Kio GRC and may well safe him from defeat?
