A decomposed body was found hanging from a tree along Republic Avenue today. The location was close to the National Day festivities planned for this coming Jubilee weekend, according to eye witnesses.
A male Singaporean jogger had passed by the tree but noticed something amiss. He looked up and was shocked to find the decomposing body, whereupon he called the police immediately.
Police and Civil Defence response teams arrived at the scene shortly and cordoned off the area. At about 8.30PM, police officers removed the body from the tree and commenced crime scene investigations.
Investigations are ongoing.
