AMBULANCE FLIPS AFTER IT COLLIDES WITH LANE-CHANGING LORRY

A serious accident between a private ambulance and a lorry near the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) exit towards Alexandra Road yesterday caused some traffic delays along the AYE towards the East Coast Parkway (ECP), says the Singapore Police Force.

According to the police spokesperson, the private ambulance was sending a patient to the Singapore General Hospital (SGH) when it collided into a lorry that tried to change lanes. The impact was so strong that both vehicles flipped, causing injuries to the ambulance crew, the patient and the lorry driver.

Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received a call at 6.09PM and sent a SCDF ambulance to the scene.

The 29-year-old lorry driver and the patient in the ambulance were taken to SGH.
