EMPLOYERS NAME 5 HARDEST JOBS TO BE FILLED BY SINGAPOREANS

According to Global workforce expert ManpowerGroup, the top 5 hardest job positions to fill in Singapore are accounting and finance staff; sales representatives; engineers; secretaries (including receptionists and administrative assistants); and, marketing, public relations and communications specialists.

In their report today, Ms Linda Teo, ManpowerGroup Singapore’s country manager, said that 40% of the 234 respondents here to its 2015 Talent Shortage Survey found it very hard to fill these positions. ManpowerGroup says the problem is “widespread restructuring that is sending tremors across sectors, with shocks being added from a tightening labour market”.

Worldwide, the hardest jobs to fill are skilled trade positions (especially chefs, bakers, butchers, mechanics and electricians), sales representatives, engineers (mechanical, electrical and civil), technicians and drivers (particularly of heavy vehicles).

Manpower Group conducted the survey with 41,700 hiring managers in 42 countries and territories.
