MORE THAN 80 EXPOSED TO MERS IN THAILAND – BUT NO SCREENING FOR THAI VISITORS YET

According to Thai health ministry, more than 80 people in the kingdom have been exposed to MERS virus.

This news came after Thailand confirmed yesterday that she had her first MERS patient who arrived from Oman. More than 80 passengers are being traced for coming into contact with the patient.

The contagious disease center in Thailand where the patient was warded has quarantined 58 staff members.

Singapore Health Minister Gan Kim Yong said that Singapore will not be conducting screening against visitors from Thailand yet as “the sole case is contained”.
