SMRT MAKES POLICE REPORT AFTER VIDEO OF 2 MEN SMOKING IN MRT GOES VIRAL

SMRT told the media today that it has lodged a police report against 2 men who were filmed smoking in one of its train cabins. The MRT train was believed to be travelling in the Bukit Batok area at an unknown date and time at night.

The video of the 2 men showed the 2 passing a cigarette between themselves, taking turns to smoke on it while their friend filmed the act and posted the video on Facebook.

According to SMRT vice-president for corporate information and communications Patrick Nathan, SMRT condemned the “brazen act” and confirmed that police report has been made.

“We encourage members of the public to alert SMRT staff should they encounter such situations,” he added.
