On Thursday (28 May 2015), Singapore Permanent Resident Tang Bei was charged in Court for causing hurt to Colvin Quek Choon Kiat at Simei Green Condominium. A second charge of using criminal force against Quek is being taken into consideration.
In the viral video, Tang Bei and Tang Lei, both PRC nationals, were seen spitting and splashing green tea on Mr Quek before hitting him incessantly over an access card issue.
The prosecution accused Tang Bei of hitting Quek, causing bruises and abrasions over his right forehead. Her sister Tang Lei charged on May 15 with similar charges.
Bail is set at S$10,000 with one surety who has to be a Singapore bailor. Tang Bei’s passport has been impounded and she was instructed to stay away from the victim.
If convicted of voluntarily causing hurt, Tang Bei faces up to 2 years’ jail, or a fine of up to S$5,000, or both.
