TAXI DRIVER VICIOUSLY ATTACKED BY MAN WHO REFUSED TO PAY $41 TAXI FARE

Shin Min Daily News reported that not only did a fare cheat not pay his taxi fare, he also punched the taxi driver and slammed his head against the wall. This vicious attack took place at 5am on Sunday at the void deck of Block 658B Jurong West Street 65.

The taxi driver Mr Raymond Lee picked up two passengers, both men and was told to drive to Jurong West. While one was sober, the other man appeared drunk.

After they reached their destination, both alighted while ignoring the driver’s request for payment of their $41 taxi fare. Lee followed them asking them for payment but was ignored.

While the drunk man attempted to reach for his wallet to pay, the sober man stopped him. This prompted the taxi driver to block them from entering the lift. This move enraged the man and he punched the taxi driver seven times and slammed Lee’s head against the wall.

Lee’s face was bloodied and his eye started to swell. For his head injuries, Lee required 10 stitches and the police have arrested a 30 year old man in connection with the incident.
