S’POREAN MAN FACES DEATH PENALTY FOR TRAFFICKING ONE KILOGRAM OF “ICE”

The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) announced in a statement yesterday that they found 183g of ketamine, 134g of synthetic cannabis, 257 Erimin-5 tablets, seven “Ecstasy” tablets, and 1,270g of “Ice”. The amount of recreational drugs found was enough to supply approximately 720 drug abusers for a week and worth $239,000 in street value.

A Singaporean man was arrested for drug trafficking, if conviced, he could face the death penalty.

The 48-year-old suspect was arrested at the Woodlands Checkpoint and some drugs were found in his haversack, along with some rudimentary drug smoking apparatus.

CNB officers subsequently raided the suspect’s Holland Close residence, where they discovered a large quantity of “Ice” and an assortment of other drugs.

Investigations are ongoing into the suspect’s drug trafficking activities.
