Two weeks ago, a video of two PRC women hitting a condominium manager at Simei Green Condo went viral on the internet. Today, one of the woman, PRC national Tang Lei was charged in court with assaulting a condominium manager Colvin Quek Choon Kiat, spitting and splashing liquid at him.
Her criminal actions caused bruises and abrasions on his forehead. The other woman who is her sister has not yet been charged by the police.
The incident was sparked by an argument with the condo manager over the issuance of access cards. Tang Lei is now out on $10,000 bail and her passport has been impounded by the police.
A pre-trial conference is scheduled for June 10.
If convicted of causing hurt, she faces a jail term of up to two years and/or a fine of $5,000. The penalty for using criminal force is three months' jail and/or a fine of up to $1,500 per charge.
