A man has been arrested in connection to a murder case at Geylang that took place on Sunday night.
The 55 year-old suspect was arrested yesterday and investigations are ongoing, the police said.
The 48 year-old deceased was found at Lorong 8 Geylang outside a coffee shop on Sunday night.
The police were alerted when they received a call at about 9.09pm and arrived at the scene to find the man lying motionless.
He was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at about 10.12pm.
Eye witnesses at the coffee shops operating along Lorong 8 Geylang said the deceased had been a regular at several of the eateries for years, and that he was known to be argumentative.
Some said that the two men were seen arguing over a woman named, Siti, believed to be the ex-girlfriend of the suspect. Eye witnesses did not think much of the argument until the suspect suddenly took out a knife and stabbed the victim in the waist before running away.
