Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums closed mostly higher in the latest bidding exercise today.

Motorcycle premiums closed at a record S$6,800, up from S$6,312 in the last exercise.

For Category A cars, or those 1600cc and below with horsepower not exceeding 130bhp, premiums closed at S$67,601, down slightly from S$67,749 two weeks ago. Premiums for larger and more powerful cars in Category B rose to S$78,001, up from S$76,612 a fortnight ago.

Open category COEs, which can be used for any vehicle type but end up being used mainly for large cars, rose to one-year high of S$79,500, up from S$78,000.

COEs for commercial vehicles, which include goods vehicles and buses, saw a sharp drop to S$53,001 from S$64,001 in the previous bidding exercise.

The Land Transport Authority said it received 4,571 bids at the end of April’s second open bidding exercise and 2,319 bids were successful.
