SMRT: BUS DRIVER WHO INJURED 88 YEAR-OLD AUNTY SUSPENDED

SMRT has issued an official response to the media today on the incident involving an 88 year-old aunty who was injured while getting off Bus 913 at Marsiling near the Woodlands Town Garden.

SMRT says that the driver involved in the incident has been suspended. SMRT also apologized to the son of the aunty and will provide their assistance to the family. They also apologized for the inconvenience caused to other commuters on Bus 913 at that time.

According to eye witnesses, the aunty had just gotten one foot out of the door of the bus when the bus driver drove off, causing the aunty to severely injure her right foot.

The accident took place yesterday in the afternoon. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received a report on the incident at 12.56PM and dispatched an ambulance to the scene. The aunty was conveyed to the nearby Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

A picture of the aunty’s badly mangled foot has gone viral on social media.
