TAXI UNCLE OFFERS FREE MIDNIGHT RIDES TO THOSE WHO PAID RESPECT TO LKY

“Whenever I turn on the TV, all I see is news of Lee Kuan Yew, I can’t help but feel sad.”

– This brought tears to my eyes when I was having a conversation with the taxi uncle.

Probably one of the nicest taxi uncle I’ve met. He was telling me that Mr Lee has given so much for this country, consider this as us giving it back to him.

He told me that he put up this sign because he knew that SMRT would not be offering 24 hours service hence, he’s going to take 4 hours of his time from 12-4 am, going to and fro the parliament house to offer free taxi rides home to those who went to pay their respect to Lee Kuan Yew. One of the nicest gestures :’)
