36 year-old computer programmer Jack Ng Kok Foong received 8 weeks jail for filming upskirt photos of women in fitting rooms and on shopping mall escalators.

He pleaded guilty to 5 of the 9 charges of intruding the the privacy of women between April and May last year.

Ng was caught when a man in a cubicle next to Ng’s at the Factorie store in ION Orchard spotted a video camera lens extending out from a bag. The man alerted security, who arrived and asked to check through Ng’s belongings. Ng refused and ran off, but was detained after a short chase and handed over to the police.

Earlier in the day, he had filmed another lady in a fitting room at Cotton On in Wisma Atria and took another upskirt video on an escalator at B4 of ION Orchard.

Ng committed 2 similar offences in Cotton On at Bugis Junction and an escalator at Pasir Ris White Sands in April and May last year.

He could have been sentenced to a year and/or fined on each charge.
