MALE STUDENT BURNS HIMSELF TO DEATH AFTER FATHER TOLD HIM TO STOP PLAYING GAMES

A 22-year-old university student allegedly burned himself to death near his family home in Fenyuan, Taiwan after his father had told him to stop playing online games and go to bed.

Chienkuo University of Technology student Xue Zhenjun had been playing online games when his father knocked on the door and told him to go to bed.

The two got into a heated argument and his father left the room, reported Apple Daily and Shanghaiist.

The next day Xue’s dad couldn’t find his son. He checked the garage to see his motorbike was gone, and then realized that two cans of petrol were missing.

He went to look for Xue and found his charred remains around 300 meters away from their home next to some empty bottles of petrol.

Police investigating the case said that Xue was facing heavy pressure about finishing his studies and finding a job and that the fight with his father may have ‘set him over the edge’.
