The residents of one Bukit Batok Avenue 8 estate hope to win the battle against their nocturnal adversaries.
But the dozens of rats, which have invaded the estate, are difficult to catch.
Traps have been set and fences leading ground-floor flats have been added to rear gates with the intention to prevent the rats from entering homes.
But when The New Paper visited the estate, some residents said that their traps were empty and the rats could still be seen scampering from to sides of buildings to open rubbish chutes.
