As much as I don't like some of the things Lee Hsien Loong has done as PM, I'm glad to hear that his prostate cancer surgery went well. (Ideology must never blind us to another person's humanity.)
And I think that it's a very statesman-like thing to get treatment at the Singapore General Hospital, rather than at any of the private hospitals, which is a ringing endorsement of the standards of our public health system.
He's going to get a one-week MC, and I think he should savour that break–use that time to read a book by a Singapore writer, watch a DVD by a Singapore filmmaker, listen to music by a Singapore band.
SGH's not the only 'world-class' thing we have in Singapore. 🙂
