IGNORANT TRAFFIC POLICE TRIED TO SCARE STUDENT DRIVER WITH FAKE HANDPHONE RULE

Dear All Singapore Stuff,

I want to share this interesting facebook post with you. Apparently, a traffic police officer tried to charge a student for using his mobile phone at the red light. The TP claims that it is a chargeable offence

Luckily for the student, his teacher previously uploaded a photo of an LTA enforcement officer using his mobile phone while stationary at a red light. The student bravely showed the image to the TP and shut the TP up for good.

In the end the TP simply let him go after behind caught with his pants down for not knowing the traffic rules well enough.

For all motorists on the road, please know your rights and do not be intimidated by the TP. Sometimes even they are blur about their own laws and this is evidence of it.

I checked online and found that even the Straits Times published an article saying that it is legal to use our handphones when the vehicle is stationary at the red light. So it is confirmed that the TP is making a fool of himself. Please be a safe and smart commuter, learn your rights!

Sincerely,

Thomas
