A Japanese woman was sexually assaulted by an Indian tour guide in the city of Jaipur, India, Indian police yesterday.
This adds one more case to a string of high profile cases of sexual assaults against foreign women in India.
The 20 year-old victim said that the tour guide had offered to show her around Jaipur, famous for its palaces and forts, on his motorbike on Sunday. After which, he offered her some food laced with drugs before bringing her to the outskirts of the city. The man fled the scene after the victim’s screams were overheard by villagers who rushed to the scene to help.
Last month, 6 men from Kolkata were charged with kidnapping and gang-raping another 22 year-old Japanese tourist. This victim had been held victim for a month. She had been travelling to the Buddhist shrine of Bodh Gaya in Bihar state.
