At approximately 11pm on Wednesday, rescuers successfully salvaged the cockpit from the ill-fated flight GE-235, which crash landed into the Keelung River after a failed liftoff from Taiwan’s Songshan Airport.
Divers extracted a headless corpse from the mangled cockpi, bringing the total number of dead up to 32. A remaining 11 passengers remain unaccounted for.
Taiwanese aviation authorities have retrieved the two blackboxes from the remains of the plane. They promised to conduct investigations and to reveal their key findings soon.
