In Germany, the anti immigrant marches directed against the Turkish minority number in the tens of thousands. In England, there are regular hate crimes committed against Muslim immigrants by the English Defense League.
In France, homes of immigrants were vandalized in the aftermath of the Charlie Hebdo attacks. The proportion of immigrants in these countries are all below 20%. And overcrowding is not a serious issue.
In Singapore, it's over 40% and we're the second most densely populated country in the world. Despite these conditions in Singapore, you won't find such examples of xenophobia that are on display in Europe. There are virtually no violent hate crimes or murders motivated by xenophobia.
The government should remember that before they label Singaporeans "xenophobic".
We're far from it. Singaporeans are one of the most tolerant communities in the world and the government should never take that fact for granted.
