According to Chinese press Wanbao, 87-year old widow Chung Khin Chun has less than $3,000 in her bank account now.
Madam Chung is well-known among Singaporeans for her association with PRC tour guide Yang Yin, who was accused of taking advantage of Chung's dementia to cheat her of her more than $40 million worth of assets. Yang is a former PAP grassroot activist in Jalan Kayu ward, where MP Intan Moktan is the MP in-charge. Yang is now facing more than 300 charges of falstification of documents and related immigration offences.
Madam Chung's OCBC saving account now only has $8,506, which is insufficient for her monthly expenses of more than $9,000 each month. Madam Chung hires 2 domestic helpers and a driver.
In order to meet these expenses, Chung's niece Madam Mok is not ruling out the possibility of selling Madam Chung's bungalow in Gerald Crescent. The bungalow is estimated to be worth more than $30 million. The proceeds from the sales will be used to purchase a smaller property for Madam Chung, and to meet her daily expenses and fund her favourite charitable activities.
Madam Mok has also filed a civil suit against Yang Yin to claim back $10 million worth of assets that reportedly belongs to Madam Chung.
Madam Chung is visibly upset when she is aware that she may have to sell her bungalow. She has stayed in Gerald crescent for more than 50 years.
The bungalow is now in a state of disrepair. The estimated cost for restoration is at least $500,000.
It was reported previously that neighbours of Madam Chung have warned their PAP MP Intan Moktar about dubious grassroot activist Yang Yin when he was active in their estate. But their warnings were ignored.
Do you think PAP MP Intan Moktar deserves a seat in parliament? What do you think, Singaporeans?
