On Tuesday, the Singapore Police Force announced the arrest of a 27 year old man believed to be involved in a case of housebreaking at Toh Guan Road East industrial estate
The police were alerted to a case of a break-in at the industrial estate at about 7.51am (Monday). The burglar made away with 3 drills, a cash register and S$4,000 in cash.
After 6 hours of expeditious and thorough investigations, investigators from Clementi Police Division managed to establish the suspect’s identity and on that afternoon arrested the suspected burglar along Geylang Lorong 8. They managed to recover the stolen drills and S$2,337 in cash.
The suspect will be charged for Housebreaking and Theft by Night under Section 457 of the Penal Code. This offence carries a maximum jail term of up to 14 years imprisonment.
