At about 4.30 am Sunday morning, plainclothes policemen were spotted chasing a heavily tatoo-ed man along Geylang Lorong 25. In a desperate attempt to escape his pursuers, the man splashed gasoline at two of the chasing policemen and raised his cigarette threatening to burn them to death if they continued to chase him.
According to a fruit stall helper who witnessed the chase, the man was about to board a taxi when the policemen tailing him shouted for him to stop. It was then that the chase started and resulted in the splashing of gasoline series of event.
It was only with the concerted effort by 8 policemen that the suspect was apprehended.
Is Geylang a lawless place where even the police are powerless? Will Geylang become the next Little India where the Singapore police force are caught napping?
What do you think?
