I’m in the company handling fibre optic connections in Singapore. Pretty obvious where I work. Recently we were fined by IDA. Let me tell what’s the problem.
We are working with one of these India CECA company which brought their whole village over. We outsource to them using their software for basically the whole data of fibre connections in Singapore. End user internet connections, businesses internet connections depend on these data, before the respective ISP can give you internet services.
So the problem? This INDIA village providing the software is very f**ked up. Urgent emails sent every day on software bugs and fibre connection problems can be ignored and took a week to reply, after some of our bosses called them. Ever wonder why there are cases where end users can’t get their fibre connections since August till now? That’s why.
Lousy software, lousy technical service. Everything poor. I heard their sw engineers from India in charge of this are paid 5k mthly SGD even. Not just one. Sometimes it’s so frustrating I literally became very hostile on email.
Please do understand cockup in fibre connections are not just our fault. But then again, we are 50% foreigners here as well. I can see the whole office. At least 5 languages and 20 accents are used. IDA should fine us more. Gawd. Singapore has become so horrible. Don’t tell me these 50% no SGs want to do? And what’s with that CECA company providing such lousy SW? Our NCS cannot do? Oh wait… NCS also filled with foreign trash. Oh god. Please just kindly vote them out already.
