Over 400 individuals turned up at Hong Lim Park on Wednesday evening to show support for citizens in Hong Kong in their protest against police violence and demand for universal suffrage.

Many of the participants were dressed in black and wore yellow ribbons. The black shirt represent “sorrow and darkness” regarding the use of force on peaceful demonstrators while the yellow ribbon has been adopted as the symbol to represent the fight for universal suffrage in Hong Kong.

The group wrote messages of encouragement on slips of paper addressed to the people of Hong Kong. Songs by iconic Hongkong band, Beyond were sung as well resembling the atmosphere of that at the site of “Occupy Central”.
