PRETTY DOCTOR WRITES TO STRAITS TIMES FORUMS REGULARLY

Dr Jaclyn Toh Ai Lin, 27, dentist.
 
MY FAMILY:
My parents still live in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, and my younger sister is completing her PhD in mechanical and design engineering at Pennsylvania State University.
 
MY HOME:
An HDB flat in Redhill.
 
MY HOBBIES:
Reading (fiction and editorials) and ballet.
 
I STARTED WRITING TO THE FORUM PAGE IN…:
October last year.
 
WHAT I WRITE ABOUT:
Anything that I feel strongly about, especially social issues.
 
WHY I WRITE:
I write if I have something I urgently need to say after reading an article or other Forum letters.
 
I READ THE FORUM PAGE BECAUSE…:
I enjoy reading ordinary folk's responses to current issues. Some write so elegantly and succinctly, expressing complex sentiments in a way that I can perfectly comprehend.
 
MY WISH FOR SINGAPORE:
For it to find a middle ground between the pursuit of success and where a good quality of life is possible for everyone.
