BEWARE: TELCOS TO START CHARGING MONTHLY FEE FOR 4G SERVICE

If you are thinking of signing up OR re-contracting with Starhub, do take note of the $2.14 monthly fee if you’ll like to use 4G services on your mobile phone!

Starhub has been charging customers S$2.14 for its ‘4G Speed Boost Value-Added Service’ since June this year.

According to Starhub, this is a “promotional rate” that will last till 31 Dec 2015, whereby it will revert to its usual price at S$10.70.

M1 will be following suit starting next year for new and re-contracting customers, pricing their 4G VAS at $10.70.

Singtel has stated that their 4G VAS will be offered free “until a date SingTel determines”. Their service is also priced at S$10.70.

According to IDA Singapore, all three operators have since decided not to charge aforementioned 4G service prices for existing customers with minimum term contracts.
Therefore, do take note if you’re a new or re-contracting customer!
