SBS Transit will raise fares for its non-basic bus services from Aug 3 (Sunday), after the Public Transport Council (PTC) gave the greenlight.

In a statement on Friday (July 11), SBS said its non-basic bus services – Nite Owl, Parks, Chinatown, Direct and Premium – will have their fares revised from Aug 3. Senior citizen and student concession fares for some of the services will go up as well.

The 31 Premium bus services will see the highest fare hike, with adult fares increasing between 20 cents and 70 cents. These services ply direct routes from the heartlands to the Central Business District.

Adult fares for the six Nite Owl services will increase by between 10 and 20 cents, and for Parks Service 408 and the three Chinatown Direct services, adult fares will go up by 10 cents. However for these 10 services, children below the age of 7 will now be allowed to ride for free. Those taller than 0.9m will still need valid child concession cards to enjoy this benefit.
