This morning, Roy Ngerng, through his lawyer M Ravi, sent a letter to lawyer Davinder Singh offering a modest compensation sum of $5000 to Lee Hsien Loong for defaming PM Lee as having criminally misappropriated Singaporean's CPF money.
Given Roy Ngerng's modest living and means as a health care worker, a $5,000 compensation amount is fair and just. Both parties will have to also pay for their respective legal fees.
However, this compensation is not meant to cover any 'aggravated damage' caused by the latest 4 blog postings and 1 YouTube video that Roy made as those did not continue to falsely accuse PM Lee of misappropriating CPF funds.
As the highest paid politician in the world earning four million dollars annually, should PM Lee be magnanimous and accept Roy's sincere offer of compensation? Or will Lee Hsien Loong persist in bankrupting poorly paid activists and silence his critics?
