This past one week has been very educational and I think we’re closer to resolving some fundamental problems faced by Singaporeans. This past week, we learnt that:
1. The high cost of living is caused by Singaporeans’ higher expectations, said Ng Eng Hen.
2. The “key to public transport satisfaction” lay in “commuters changing their attitude”, said former PTC chairman Gerard Ee.
3. The unhappiness over the CPF Minimum Sum is because of Singaporeans’ “misconceptions” about the scheme, said Tan Chuan Jin.
The solution to these problems now seem simple enough: Singaporeans need to lower expectations, change their attitude and get themselves better informed.
Singaporeans are the problem.
