I have been living overseas for the past 27 years. Whenever I deal with public servants in Singapore, their follow-ups have always been very efficient, and e-mail exchanges are friendly.

Once, I had a problem with registering on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ website. I e-mailed the ministry at 8am and the Singapore consulate called me by 10am to assist me.

Special mention also goes to the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority’s passport services and the Housing Board for their excellent service.

When one lives in Singapore, one tends to take things for granted. But if you are overseas, such efficiency and are makes a big difference.
