Crazy weather patterns in S’pore causing unusual mass blooming of flowers

Plants and trees across Singapore have started to go into full bloom out of the blue, as such mass flowering is rarely seen here.

According to Oh Cheow Sheng, the director of streetscape at the National Parks Board (NParks), the likeliest cause for this mass flowering is the recent prolonged dry spell in Singapore that lasted for more than a month that was followed by a few days of heavy rain.

However, this doesn’t explain the precise biological reason as to how the mass flowering is triggered.
