MRT brawlers in viral video arrested

SINGAPORE — The two men who fought each other on an MRT train, in an incident that was filmed and went viral, have been arrested, the police said today (Jan 21).

On Jan 11, the police were alerted of a fight between two men in the 40s on board a moving MRT train, somewhere between Khatib and Yio Chu Kang MRT stations.

The men had disembarked by the time the police arrive, but officers investigating the case managed to identify the suspects. The two men were arrested in the vicinity of Ang Mo Kio Ave 9 yesterday.

The two brawlers will be charged with causing an affray tomorrow. If found guilty, they be jailed for a maximum of a year, fined up to S$5,000, or both.
