Our reader mocks the PAP for building Bukit Panjang LRT due to political pressure and wonders if the same is true for the upcoming Downtown Line. "As a Minister, Khaw has failed miserably. It seems he only knows ow to blame everyone else except himself".

IT WILL TAKE 7 YEARS TO FIX MRT BREAKDOWNS!

But this will take up to seven years! It is a long haul for folks who have been waiting for a smoother ride since 2011″ – I would like to applaud and thank Christopher Tan for telling us what is arguably the most significant piece of information about the MRT, that I believe nobody (SMRT, transport ministry, media etc) has ever told Singaporeans – which is it “will take up to seven years” to fix the current breakdowns!

KHAW BOON WAN: MRT RENEWAL TO COMPLETE IN 2024, PLS BEAR WITH US

Minister of Transport Khaw Boon Wan announced that the overhaul of North-South East-West lines will only be completed in 2024. He expects improved reliability by 2019 but asked commuters to bear with it as full-day testing on East-West Line commences in December.

MULTI-RELIGIOUS LEADERS CONDUCT TRACK BLESSING FOR F1 S'PORE GRAND PRIX

With the gaze of the motor racing world set to be firmly focused on Singapore next week with the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix, the organisers have left nothing to chance to help ensure it runs smoothly. A ceremony was held at the race’s Marina Bay Street Circuit yesterday, where religious leaders from Catholicism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, Sikhism, Judaism, Jainism, Zoroastrianism and the Baha’i faith conducted prayers for good weather and the safety of the 23 drivers and their teams, race officials and spectators.
