MAN SEXUALLY ASSAULTS WOMAN AFTER SHE FOILED HIS ROBBERY ATTEMPT

Singh, who had absconded from the Reformative Training Centre at the time, was cycling in the vicinity of Serangoon Gardens, looking for victims to rob when he spotted the woman. The Chinese national was walking home using her usual route after work. He followed her into a back alley of Worthing Road beside Kensington Park Condominium, got down from his bicycle and ran towards her, brandishing a foldable Swiss army knife.

ARMED ROBBER STRIKES WESTERN UNION @ UBI, STILL ON THE RUN, 2ND ROBBERY IN DAYS

In what is Singapore's second armed robbery in two days, a man holding a knife robbed a Western Union branch at knife point and made away with $2,000 in cash. The robber who is still at large forced the Western Union employee to hand over the cash. Nobody was injured in the incident and police are currently investigating.

MAN FACES 2 YRS JAIL, 6 STROKES OF THE CANE FOR ATTEMPTING TO STAB PREGNANT WOMAN

A 30 year old man was sentenced to 2 years jail and 6 strokes of the cane for attempting to stab and rob a pregnant woman. He was motivated by anger as he had lost his job that day. He took a 13cm-long knife from home and barged into a mini mart at Tampines St 41 with the intention of robbing the cashier. He was however scared off by the screaming pregnant woman and a shop assistant who was thankfully there to help. The pregnant woman was unharmed.

WOULD BE ROLEX ROBBER SCARED OFF BY SOUND OF THUNDER

An unemployed Malaysian man who had financial problems, resorted to trying to steal a Rolex watch on February this year, using a knife to threaten the woman owner at Hillview Road. The man, Patrick Sim Lung Ann, told the woman to hand over her $3,200 Rolex watch while holding the knife to her.

However, before he could get the watch, he was frightened off by the nearby sound of thunder, and ran off, while the victim shouted for help. The 36 year old Sim was yesterday sentenced to 30 months in jail and 6 strokes of the cane. Sim had actually managed to escape to Malaysia via the Woodlands Checkpoint at night on the same day, but was arrested three months later when he tried to reenter Singapore. Sim was previously worked as a fruit stall assistant in Singapore, but lost his job in January this year.
