SCDF NSF: EMERGENCY PARAMEDICS SHOULD NOT BE DEALING WITH DRUNKS

I'm an SCDF NSF who recently ORD and wish to share some insights of the night duty, especially having to deal with party goers from Clark Quay/Mohd Sultan.

I felt that as an emergency paramedic supposed to deal with life threatening situations, instead it is totally a waste of time when resources have to be dispatched to attend to drunken who're either unresponsive due to severe intoxication or get injured due to provoked fighting.

NETIZEN CLAIMS MINDEF COMMANDER MOLESTED HIM

A netizen who claims to be working for the Ministry of Defence says his commander sexually harassed and molested him and "a whole slew of other people". He says he is now afraid to voice out about the mental trauma he is going through because he does not want to be marked as a mental case and jeopardize his future career.

CYBER DEFENDERS TO BE AN ELITE NS VOCATION ON PAR WITH COMMANDOS AND NAVAL DIVERS

The authorities will place a stringent selection process in order for National Servicemen to be able to join the cyber security team. Minister Ong said that this vocation is very socialized and targeted, as well as very demanding much like how commandos and naval divers are selected.

Maybe one problem they will face is that these cyber security squad may focus less on the physical side of their NS stint, while focus will be more on the mental side. Will that be a boring stint serving NS, or be seen as an elite vocation to aim for?

WOMEN SERVING NS IS BETTER FOR SG THAN HAVING PR SERVE NS

I think it is high time for females to serve NS since they haven't been producing enough babies with our falling fertility rate of below 1. Women can serve in paramedic, recce, sniper, scout, artillery, intelligence, UAV pilots, security, etc. There are so many roles that doesn't require physical strength and women can fit into these roles perfectly, leaving those physically demanding roles to men.

By doing so, we can increase manpower. I would also trust women citizens more than male PRs. Which makes me question why do we need PRs, who are effectively foreigners, to serve NS? No foreigners should ever be trusted to defend our nation. In times of war, they might even be recruited to be spies by foreign invaders.

MINDEF REMINDS PARENTS OF NEWBORN BOYS OF THEIR NS OBLIGATIONS

Singaporean parents of newborn boys were surprised when they received letters from the Ministry of Defence recenly. They were even more surprised when they read letters congratulating them about the birth of their newborn boys... but then their surprise turned to dismay as the letters were really meant to emphasize the importance of national service and remind them of their child's national service obligations.

NS MEN MAY BE SMELLY BUT BE THANKFUL WE SERVE THE NATION OK!

I just want to chip in my little god damn thoughts. I am not an NSF neither do I need to serve the National Service. However, I was from an Uniform Group namely NCDCC and I would say it's not comparable to the National Service but I would definitely understand their situation after a long week in camps. If I am an NS man, the last thing on my god damn bloody mind is to PUT ON THE DEODORANT or PERFUME after a long tiring week of serving the nation that we all live in and to prepare to save the god damn ass of these ungrateful complain queen/king of SG. If I am an NS man, I would definitely be happy and grateful that my parents took the time to pick me up from the bus terminal perhaps to get a nice meal before we get home while I share with them of what happened in camp over the weeks.

To the Public, I hope that we can all be a little bit more appreciative to your father, your brothers, your sons, your boyfriends, your husbands, your grandfathers etc, basically, all the male figure for that they had served the nation for us all. To protect us in the times of crisis and to always put the Elderly, the Woman & the Children before themselves. Lastly, to all my 20/10 soldiers, thank you for serving the nation and keeping us safe in the future of any crisis.
