Lee's case echoed that of professional footballer wannabe, Ben Davis. He was supposed to have served his National Service currently, but he defaulted and is said to have signed professional terms with Fulham, an English based professional football team. While Davis has still not been charged in court as he is currently still in absentia without official leave, or AWOL, Lee has been dealt with, as he had returned to Singapore and serving his defaulted NS obligations.

I'm an SCDF NSF who recently ORD and wish to share some insights of the night duty, especially having to deal with party goers from Clark Quay/Mohd Sultan.

I felt that as an emergency paramedic supposed to deal with life threatening situations, instead it is totally a waste of time when resources have to be dispatched to attend to drunken who're either unresponsive due to severe intoxication or get injured due to provoked fighting.

The authorities will place a stringent selection process in order for National Servicemen to be able to join the cyber security team. Minister Ong said that this vocation is very socialized and targeted, as well as very demanding much like how commandos and naval divers are selected.

Maybe one problem they will face is that these cyber security squad may focus less on the physical side of their NS stint, while focus will be more on the mental side. Will that be a boring stint serving NS, or be seen as an elite vocation to aim for?
