CHRISTIAN FUNDAMENTALISTS NEED TO STOP MEDDLING IN S'PORE POLITICS

The facebook group is a gathering of Christian hardliners in Singapore who demand for anyone or anything that does not condemn homosexuality to be punished. The leader of the group, Ms Carrie Yu, is a Christian fundamentalist who has campaigned against many things such as Adam Lambert's performance and the Penguin books which featured two male penguins raising a baby penguin. She goes by the name Carrie Shalom on facebook. During GE2015, she arranged for SMS and whatsapp messages to be sent as widely as possible to get the WP East Coast team defeated. She warned that Christians should not vote for Associate Professor Daniel Goh as he has been 'sympathetic' to the LGBT movement.

FAKE MONKS & NUNS SPOTTED TRYING TO CHEAT S'POREANS!

Foreigners have been posing as false Buddhist monks and nuns in Singapore and Johor as part of an attempt to fleece unknowing victims of their hard earned money. Complaints about these fake monks and nuns have been appearing in several Singapore Chinese evening dailies, as well as in Malaysian papers.

NEW BUDDHIST MONASTERY TO BE BUILT IN WOODLANDS

A new Buddhist monastery is set to be built in Woodlands. Construction is estimated to be completed by the end of 2016. The monastery will be located at the junction of Woodlands Dr 16 and Woodlands Ave 6. Minister for National Development Khaw Boon Wan attended a groundbreaking ceremony today at the site.

Sri Lanka deports British tourist for her Buddha tattoo

Sri Lanka today (April 24) deported a British tourist for having a tattoo of Buddha on her arm which a court said was an insult to the island’s main religion. Legally, there is no ban on a Buddha tattoo in Sri Lanka, but the predominantly Buddhist nation is very sensitive about its religion. Ms Naomi Coleman, a 37-yar-old nurse left on a London-bound flight after being detained since her arrival on Monday from neighbouring India.
