WHY NO PAP MP SPEAK UP AGAINST FAKE DEGREES?

In the article one could sense the frustration and exasperation of Phillip Ang, representing the unhappy voices of PMETs that were replaced by the degree mill foreigners. You could imagine him pulling at his hair in anger, that nothing seems to be done, no one seems to care or even want to talk about this sorry state of affair, less want to do anything about it.

MINISTER LIM SWEE SAY'S DEFENDING FOREIGNERS WITH FAKE DEGREES IS ILLOGICAL

Lim Swee Say is talking nonsense. How are you going to authenticate an applicant’s skill through experience and salary? Would there be a test during the interview? Would you be able to verify his experience and salary earned? Are you to believe all that is written in his resume? Please re-issue your statement with better logic!!!

HIRE PEOPLE WITH WORK EXPERIENCE, NOT USELESS PAPER DEGREES

I'm talking about actually offering graduate jobs, at graduate salary levels, to non-graduates with experience, skills and networks to do the job. Once we do that, we will not have this problem of whose degree is better, which university is higher ranked, why my fake PhD is better than your BA from NUS, Degree and so on.

S'POREAN: I WORKED SO HARD TO GET RECOGNISED DEGREE WHILE FT USE FAKE DEGREE

I did not study so hard to get a degree from an Accredited university for Singaporean employers to suddenly be allowed to consider applications of people with Mill degrees (as long as they have sufficient experience?!) Is this the civil service stand now? To even allow mill degrees to appear on our CVs? Isn't even applying with a mill degree a form of deceit in itself????

TEO CHEE HEAN: NO NEED FOR CENTRAL SYSTEM TO DETECT FAKE DEGREES

In a Parliamentary response to Opposition Member of Parliament (MP) Png Eng Huat’s question over whether the Singapore Government will consider setting up a centralized system to check foreign degrees for public service agencies, the Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean flatly shot down the idea. DPM Teo said he believes that the public service agency responsible for hiring a candidate with foreign qualifications, is already in the best position to decide his relevance and suitability for the job.

WDA STAT BOARD AWARDS BOGUS DEGREE HOLDER WITH "LIFELONG LEARNER" AWARD

On the Singapore Human Resources Institute’s (SHRI) website, this lecturer was featured in their list of lecturers. “Dr” Lim Siew Choon holds a phD from Vancouver University Worldwide, which is a degree mill as listed in the article here. It is appalling that a professional HR organization such as SHRI is clueless on which degrees are real and which are fake. And they even featured the lecturer and his unusual degree on their website without first checking if his doctorate was real.

GOVT MUST INVESTIGATE ALL HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGERS IN THE PUBLIC SERVICE

I am very disappointed with IDA and Ministry of Manpower's lack of updates in the recent spate of fake degree cases. Firstly, it looks like there are public servants in statutory boards who possess fake educational qualifications. Unless IDA can come out with a statement to refute this, Singaporeans will continue to assume that IDA allows foreigners with dubious characters to represent the organisation.
