First it was 2-piece Texas chicken and now upgraded to bird's nest. The desperate PAP Aljunied suicide squad is resorting to more expensive goodies to lure voters into giving them their vote as if it can be bought with food.

The Worker's Party has confirmed its five-member Aljunied GRC team contesting this election: Pritam Singh, Sylvia Lim, Muhamad Faisal Manap, Leon Perera and Gerald Giam. This follows the announcement that Chen Show Mao, Png Eng Huat and former party chief Low Thia Kiang are not contesting in this election.

The Workers' Party (WP) Secretary-General Pritam Singh announced on 25 June that political veterans Low Thia Khiang, Chen Show Mao and Png Eng Huat will not be contesting in GE2020. This decision to step down was made "some time ago". However their decision to step down does not mean they are retiring from politics. Pritam Singh shared that their collective decision to step down was based on three considerations to ensure the successful continuation of WP.

However, MPs must go through their Grassroots Advisers to raise projects for consideration. For PAP wards, Grassroots Advisers are always the elected PAP MPs themselves, so basically, they ownself allow ownself to use funds. But for opposition ward, the Grassroot Adviser happens to be the very same PAP candidates that were defeated by the WP in the Elections, thus it is no surprise that they have their own agenda against WP doing good work for their residents.

Will Low Thia Khiang Be Contesting In East Coast GRC?

Prominent WP NMPs Daniel Goh and Leon Perera have been seen going on walkabouts around Aljunied with Low Thia Khiang, raising the possibility that both will be candidates in Aljunied GRC. Expert political observer Tan Ern Ser said that Low Thia Khiang's move to contest East Coast GRC will not affect the chances of losing WP losing Aljunied GRC.
