The US government is appealing a US immigration judge's decision to grant Amos Yee asylum. The judge had ruled in March that Amos Yee should stay in the US as he had faced political persecution in Singapore.
Yee's lawyer, Chris Keeler, said that the case is now before the Board of Immigration Appeals. The final decision for Amos Yee's asylum bid could now take months.
Based on the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement website, Yee is now staying in a Wisconsin jail.
