UBER DRIVER SENDS PASSENGERS FROM YISHUN TO POLICE STATION IN UBI TO SETTLE FARE DISPUTE

It was reported in the newspaper that two women were moving house from Yishun Ring Road to block 512 in Yishun.

One of them, a Ms Sun decided to use Uber to move their belongings as there was a promotion; they could save $5 from their Uber ride.

The women made 2 Uber trips.

The first trip cost $5.50. Only $0.50 was payable after the promotion was applied.

The second trip cost $5.20. It appears that the promotion was not applied to the fare. If the promotion was valid, the trip would only cost $0.20 The women panicked as both of them did not have cash or credit cards on them.

When they could not figure out what was wrong with their app, and since they could not contact Uber, their Uber driver decided to take things into his own hands - he decided to drive them to a police station in Ubi.

Yes, he drove them from Yishun to Ubi.

It was said that the police tried to resolve the issue cordially. However the Uber driver refused to send the women back to Yishun.

He left his passengers stranded with five pieces of luggage.

His last word, “I won’t take the $0.20 fare”.
